My ten month old has been battling quite a cold this week. He just looks and sounds so pitiful, especially at night, when he tries to breathe through his stuffed up nose. Since all of the cold medication for his age group has been pulled off the store shelves, it has been quite difficult to find the best ways to bring him relief.
Thankfully, just as his cold was becoming worse, a package came my way, his godsend. The box, filled with alternative cold remedies from One Step Ahead, was just what he needed to help battle his pestering cold.
I immediately reached for the Vapor-Eze Waterless Vaporizer. Though tiny, it sure is powerful! In lieu of water, it runs on pre-moistened aromatherapy pads, providing up to 10 hours of relief. I chose to use one of the Menthol/Eucalyptus pads, a natural decongestant.
The vaporizer has 3 settings: low, medium and high. Judging from the small size of the vaporizer, I chose to place it on high. In a few hours I learned just how well it worked, and turned it down. You can definitely keep the Vaporizer on low and still get the desired results.
The room was quickly filled with the scent of Menthol and my little guy was breathing much easier. The best part about the vaporizer, is that it is waterless. There is no spilling, scrubbing, or worrying about the risk of growing mold.
I have been very pleased with the Vapor-Eze’s performance. And at the affordable price of $24.95, I am planning on buying one for each bedroom. The aromatherapy pads also come in lavender, to promote sleep and a blend of lemon, peppermint and eucalyptus to sharpen concentration and promote clear thinking.
Next, I pulled out the Baby Bed Blocks, retail value $24.95, and raised one side of his crib to help in aiding his breathing and much needed drainage.
They worked very well for me and were easy to use. I am not sure if they will accommodate all cribs. I know that some cribs don’t have skinny legs, or may have wheels. But for us, the Baby Bed Blocks worked wonderfully. I used two blocks on each leg. Surprisingly, he kept his head on the raised part of the crib, instead of rolling down to the other end to sleep.
He is currently on the mend, and I am thankful that we have had the Vapor-Eze and Baby Bed Blocks to help him out. I just can’t stand it when little babies are sick.
The EarCheck® was the third item that I received from One Step Ahead. After a hefty bill for taking my two-year-old to the ER a few months ago, for what turned out to be a double ear infection, I am glad to now have EarCheck® in my medicine cabinet. I did use EarCheck® on my ten month old, since he has been recovering from an ear infection. It was great to watch it monitor his recovery and give me a healthy reading of, fluid unlikely, as he finished up the last of his antibiotics.

Off to purchase one of the waterless Vaporizors today. 2 of my little ones have Asthma as well as myself, I found using the other vaporizers the mold causes us more of an issue with their breathing…This is such a great solution!!!

I LOVE the sound of the Vapor-Eze Waterless Vaporizer! My son (14 months) is recovering from Croup and I have been using the standard water filled vaporizer which is a mess! My husband added to much salt to the water and WOW I think it was actually sparking. I am always worried about the possibility of bacteria forming in the vaporizer so the waterless version sounds so great and much cleaner.

Although I am aware of the EarCheck, I have never seen a waterless vaporizer. Leave it to One Step Ahead. I would love to win your giveaway as my two young granddaughters are always getting colds (thank you Pre-school!) and they hate to have their temperature taken. This is a really great giveaway and I wish I had had this like this when mine was little. I would like to have the grans to have this, especially the one for the ears. My oldest granddaughter who is a junior in college and because of repeated ear infections when she was little she never got over one before another was there when she was in high school and in college was not allowed to persue softball scholarship because she couldn’t hear out of one year. She has had three surgeries to repair the hole in her ear that infection has eaten out and all the bones removed because infection had eaten out parts of them. She no longer has infection but she can’t hear out of that ear either. If there had been something like this instrument when she was little all of this would be avoided. I get tears in my eyes everytime someone tells me their child has ear infection and they think it will just be fixed easily. I pray that this helps others not go through what this child has gone through. I would love to win this for the small grans in our family. Thank you for reveiwing such great prizes!

Nice prizes! I need the ear check monitor the most. My oldest has chronic ear pain. This would save us a few doctors visits.
My poor child is always sick….I wonder if everyone in Arizona fair better than us on the east coast. If it’s below 70 it’s cold for me….I should probably find myself a nice chunk of land on the equator somewhere. Of course, that would just present a whole new set of problems….like weird jungle diseases and strange insect bites. I suppose no matter where we are we all have our own set of issues, huh?

When my first son was born we had to fold blankets under one end of the mattress so he slept with his head higher than his belly and add a little rice cereal to his bottle due to Reflex disorder. I wish they had the “Baby Bed Blocks” when he was born. I tried the wedge but it didn’t work good because you couldn’t choose the height of the angle. Thanks for Sharing~!

Wow! I would LOVE to have one of these for my 2 year old room. This winter she has has pneamonia and cant seem to get rid of it. No matter how many antibiotics or steriods they put her on, we cant kick it. She is also on 3 breathing treatments a day. This would come in so handy. I am always to scared to put our old vaporizer in her room at night (its one of the ones that hold a ton of water in it)
