America’s Biggest Bedtime Story

It’s a bedtime story pajama party! The BOOK IT! Program, a reading incentive program sponsored by Pizza Hut, is hosting its third America’s Biggest Bedtime Story on Feb. 18th and we’d love to have YOU take part.

Joining in is simple. On February 18th, log on to www.bookitprogram.com starting at 9 a.m. for a live webcast with Golden Globe winning author and actor John Lithgow, reading one of his favorites, Carnival of the Animals. The webcast will be available all day. “All you need is a computer, good company and love for reading.”

This year YOUR participation can make a huge difference.

During this year’s America’s Biggest Bedtime Story event, the BOOK IT! Program is challenging readers to break the 2009 attendance record of 198,000 people to support a good cause.

If more people participate in 2010 than in 2009, the BOOK IT! Program will donate 50,000 meals to Haiti through the World Food Program, in their continued effort to encourage reading while supporting an imperative cause.

Whether you take part with just your children or throw a pajama party with friends, you will find plenty of resources at www.bookitprogram.com to make the event extra fun. Be sure to check out the tips for parents and the resources for teachers, which include printable bookmarks, word search puzzles and more.

To celebrate America’s Biggest Bedtime Story, we have a BOOK IT! prize pack to give away to one lucky reader. Our winner will receive one copy of Marsupial Sue Presents “The Runaway Pancake”, by John Lithgow and two $10 gift cards to Pizza Hut.

To enter please leave a comment below. As always, you can earn even more entries: subscribe to our Feed, sign up for our 5M4M Newsletter, add our 5M4Giveaways button in your sidebar, write a post and link back to this contest on your blog, and spread the word via Twitter or email! Please see our site’s Terms and Conditions of Use for a complete list of our contest and giveaway rules.

This giveaway is open to US shipping addresses and ends Friday, February 19th. Our winner will be announced Saturday, February 20th.

I hope you join in on 2-18! Let’s make this year’s event bigger than ever!

Pizza Hut’s BOOK IT! Program has generously provided two $10 Pizza Hut gift cards and a copy of Marsupial Sue Presents “The Runaway Pancake” as prizing for our giveaway. To thank me for spreading the word about America’s Biggest Bedtime Story, they are sending the same prize package my way as well.

My daughter’s class did Carnival of the Animals when she was in elementary school. Since the background music for the webcast was the music they had all sung, I emailed all the parents, so hopefully they all watched, too.
