Goodbye Dry Skin – exederm Giveaway

All three of my children suffer from eczema. My poor son, Isaiah, has definitely had the worst case. At the age of 18 months, we took him to a dermatologist who was quite shocked at just how bad his eczema was. We ended up having to use steroid creams to get it under control.

As a mom whose children deal with eczema, I know how tough it can be for our precious little ones. It seems to be the worst at night, when they just can’t stop itching those little arms and legs. With all of their “itchies”, as my son calls them, it is so difficult for them to doze off to sleep.

It can also be challenging to find products that don’t trigger flare-ups. Many lotions and creams on the market do a great job at hydrating the skin, but the added chemicals irritate the skin and before you know it, there are dry, red patches everywhere.

The exederm line is the solution for eczema and dermatitis sufferers. Their products use the mildest ingredients possible. Exederm contains no fragrance, no color or dyes, no parabens, no (SLS) Sodium Laureth Sulfate, no Lanolin, no (CAPB) Cocamidopropyl Betaine, no Propylene Glycol, and no phthalates.

In fact, in September 2008, the National Eczema Association honored exederm with the first of 12 separate ‘Seal of Acceptance’ awards in acknowledgment of their ultra sensitive formulations.

If you or your children suffer from eczema or dermatitis, I recommend checking out exederm. There is also a handy chart on their site that compares the ingredients in leading creams that are used by those with sensitive skin. It really is eye opening to see how many of these creams actually contain many harsh chemicals.

The exederm line offers eczema wash, eczema shampoo, eczema conditioner, eczema lotion, eczema body oil, intensive moisturizer, and flare control cream. There are also products just for little ones. You will find baby eczema lotion, baby eczema cream, baby eczema oil, baby eczema wash and baby eczema shampoo.

I received the baby products as well as the flare control cream to use on my children. Unfortunately the flare control cream didn’t put an end to their flare-ups as I had hoped. I still had to use steroid cream on those trouble spots. Again, my kids have pretty severe eczema. I am a big fan of the baby wash and shampoo, because it can be quite difficult to find gentle washes for little ones that are also free of chemicals, dyes and SLS.

The exederm site also has a section that I feel is a great resource for those of us dealing with sensitive skin issues. You can find a listing and detailed explanations of the common irritants found in skincare products. When you are knowledgeable, you will know what to look out for on labels of hypoallergenic and sensitive skin products.

We would like to offer the full exederm baby line (perfect for children) to one lucky reader. To enter please leave a comment below.

My daughter has eczema and with how the weather has been drastically changing here in Texas it’s constantly flareing up. We have a steroid cream and it calms it, but the price is so high we use other things inbetween uses. We have not tried this product yet. I hope we win so we can test it out. Who knows it could be the answer we’ve been looking for! :)

I checked out the products and I like quite a few of them but if I had my choice I would try the Baby Eczema cream (in the jar). I actually have twin foster girls with eczema on their faces. Their mom is quite upset about it, thinking it was our fault but I took them to a doctor and found out it was eczema and not an allergy. I wish I had heard about this cream before I purchased the cream I have now. I will probably try the Exederm anyway.
