Rice Krispie® Treats…my favorite holiday treat!

This morning I was making out my “holiday treats” list — a list of all of the yummy, yummy holiday treats that I will attempt to make/bake this month! At the top of that list is the Rice Krispie® Treat Wreath! It is my in-laws favorite so I make it every single year. It’s my feeble attempt at staying in their good graces!

We love Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® in my house! My girls love eating them for breakfast…who wouldn’t with the little snaps, crackles, and pops!

But we also love Rice Krispie® Treats!!! They are a classic treat that can be made in so many different ways, are perfect for any season, and something my girls get to help make! And they are so easy to make!!!

How do you make your Rice Krispie® Treats? Do you stick with the traditional squares or do you get a little more creative around the holidays and make your Treats in the shape of stars, candy canes, or trees?

If you are looking for a little inspiration to jazz up your Rice Krispie® Treats this year then head over to www.ricekrispies.com. They have a ton of different recipes and ideas on how to share these classic treats with your loved ones and great ways to involve your kids in the treat making fun!

This year I’m excited to try a few new recipes with the help of Cocoa Krispies®! Making my “holiday treats” list this year are the Winter Chocomint Treats and the Mint Chocolate Pie!!! (You can find these recipes at www.ricekrispies.com.)

Now that I have you craving Rice Krispie® Treats…how about a giveaway!

We are giving away TEN Rice Krispie® Treat Making Kits (each worth approximately $40)! The kits include:

    The Rice Krispies Treats Cookbook

    Blue plastic mixing bowl

    Two Rice Krispies branded mugs

We prefer the traditional treats, but the chocolate ones aren’t bad either. We spread them out alittle thinner and like to cut them out in shapes with strong metal cookie cutters.
If you spread them out thinner you can stack them with something spread between, like good homemade cherry jam.

I saw the cutest idea that we are trying for the kids class parties this year. Make the rice crispy treats as usual, but instead of putting in a pan, shape into small golf ball sized balls. Insert a stick pretzel into each ball and then dip halfway into melted chocolate. Then you can dip into sprinkles and let them cool!! Doesn’t this sound neat???

Rice Krispy treats are one of the greatest snacks year round, but I love using cookie cutters to make holiday shapes at Christmas.

I am a traditional squares fan! However, I do prefer my rice krispie treats with red hot candies in them. For some reason that makes them so much better! I have been having a craving for those for a while! I need to make some!

Thank you so much for the chance to win!

I am new here! I found you by way of searching for new ways to make rice krispies wreaths. I like mine made with the holiday rice krispies and use a strawberry fruit roll up unrolled and made into a bow to top it off. Its almost too cute to eat…almost. ;-) Now I can’t wait to try that pie, yum!
