Yo Gabba Gabba has just introduced a new CD, Music Is Awesome. I am such a huge fan of children's music. Even if I don't like it, my kids do, and I love to take advantage of all those hours we spend in the car to reinforce the concepts that they are learning on their favorite shows, or simply to let them be rapt (with silence!) as they listen. At least that's how it affects my 5-year-old. Since he's very very rarely silent, this is a good good thing for me.

Yes, the CD does include the aforementioned, "There's a Party in My Tummy," but there are other songs that are not performed by the Yo Gabba Gabba group that are quite enjoyable (even for moms), like "It's Okay, Try Again," by the Shins, and "Just Because It's Different, Doesn't Mean It's Scary," by a Beatle-esque sounding group I'm From Barcelona.

You can watch Yo Gabba Gabba daily at 1:00 p.m. (when we watch it!), 1:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nick Jr.
