It’s Beginning to Look A lot Like IMAX! A Christmas Carol Giveaway

It’s November already! Where did the time go? Before you know it, Thanksgiving will be over and it will be time for dashing through the snow, rocking around the Christmas tree and roasting chestnuts on an open fire.

On November 6th, Disney’s A Christmas Carol: An IMAX 3D Experience opens. It is a great way to ring in the holidays.

Disney’s A Christmas Carol, a multi-sensory thrill ride re-envisioned by Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Robert Zemeckis, captures the fantastical essence of the classic Dickens tale in groundbreaking 3-D motion picture event.

Ebenezer Scrooge (JIM CARREY) begins the Christmas holiday with his usual miserly contempt, barking at his faithful clerk (GARY OLDMAN) and his cheery nephew (COLIN FIRTH). Scrooge later encounters the ghost of his dead business partner Joseph Marley, who’s paying the price in the afterlife for his own callousness.

Marley hopes to help Scrooge avoid a similar fate and tells him he will be visited by three spirits. But when the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come take Old Scrooge on an eye-opening journey revealing he’s reluctant to face, he must open his heart to undo years of ill will before it’s too late.

Parental guidance is suggested. Some material may not be suitable to children due to scary sequences and images.

For the Scrooge in you, we have a “Season’s Greedings” IMAX Prize Pack to award to one lucky reader.

The Package includes:

  • 1 Disney’s A Christmas Carol poster
  • 1 Disney’s A Christmas Carol nightshirt
  • 1 Disney’s A Christmas Carol journal
  • 1 Disney’s A Christmas Carol book, based on the new movie
  • A family 4-pack of IMAX tickets

I think that my favorite song of all time is Joy to the world. There is just something about a bunch of people with jolly voices singing in high pitched voices that bring in the holiday spirit.

I don’t know if I can pick just one favorite Christmas song; we already have 100.3 and 102.5 (2 stations that play all Christmas songs) on heavy rotation at our house. I guess I’d have to go with Christmas Shoes (the song about the boy who buys shoes for his mom so she can look beautiful when she meets Jesus). That song makes me bawl my eyes out, and I love it so much that I just bought the movie based on the song. I can’t wait to watch it with my daughter.

White Christmas (by Bing Crosby, of course) is my all time favorite. But the Oak Ridge Boys do a beautiful rendition of this with great harmony

Oops! Too late for the contest. Oh well, next year. Oakridge Boys white Christmas is awesome nonetheless!
