Giveaway: Kobold Toys ArchiQuest Building Blocks

The ArchiQuest building block sets are cool! I’m not sure who likes them more, me or my kids. They are just fun. And these are more than just building blocks – they are extremely educational for parent and child alike.

When we received the box in the mail, my six year old immediately popped up, his eyes wide and bright. “What are those?” he asked all full of wonder and awe.

And when I spread them out on the floor, he immediately set to work building and creating. Then I joined in on the fun, looking through the book that came with the blocks and building some of the creations they had mapped out inside.

Needless to say, he and I had to take turns because we both got so into our creations.

According to their website, “ArchiQuest is an open ended, creative and intelligent building system that taps into the wellspring of youthful imagination and learning.”

Beautifully carved and handpainted, each set of ArchiQuest blocks come with a hard back book that gives building suggestions and also gives some background on the different sets they offer.

I love these blocks not only for the imagination they spur on in my son, but also because he and I have both learned something new from them. We’ve learned about the ancient architechs of a time long gone. It’s mysterious and exciting for my son to imagine himself as a mighty builder, creating art out of mere shapes.

Sold by Kobold Toys, a company dedicated to products that spur on a child’s imagination and creativity, the ArchiQuest blocks are a great gift for any imaginative child.

And today, one lucky reader will have the opportunity to win a set of ArchiQuest blocks.

According to their website, the ArchiQuest blocks are described this way: Each ArchiQuest set includes handcrafted wooden blocks in simple and elegant shapes and an educational, hardbound book. Each block is fully illustrated with beautifully painted, original artwork inspired by some of the world’s most famous architectural masterpieces. By arranging your blocks in different ways, you can create hundreds of different architechtural designs. In many ways, ArchiQuest is alike a unique puzzle combining two-dimensional artwork and three-dimensional shapes to tease and challenge our creative intelligence. While ArchiQuest tests your mastery of space, proportion, symmetry, scale, and other architectural properties, it also requires having fun and a playful mind.

To enter to win a set of ArchiQuest blocks from Kobold Toys, please leave a comment below. As always, don’t forget to earn more entries: subscribe to our Feed, sign up for our 5M4M Newsletter, add our 5M4Giveaways button in your sidebar, write a post and link back to this contest on your blog, and spread the word via Facebook, Twitter, or email! Please see our site’s Terms and Conditions of Use for a complete list of our contest and giveaway rules.

This giveaway is open to US shipping addresses only and will close on Friday, November 13th. We will announce our winner on Saturday, November 14th.

Before I sat down to write this review I asked my son what he liked best about his new blocks. “Well, it’s cool to build huge towers and knock ‘em down then start again,” he said. Then I asked him if there was anything he didn’t like about the blocks. “Uh, well…” he thought. “I really hate it when Bubba knocks them over and takes them while I’m building.”

So, you know, watch out for pesky little brothers and all should be good.

Enter to win today!

*Thank you to Kobold toys for providing me with a set of ArchiQuest Building Blocks to review.*

They are always pulling things apart, building things, and trying to put things back together, so these would keep them busy for a while!

I like these blocks much better than the plain ones. The different colors and the architectural detail make them so interesting!

I showed a picture of these blocks to a colleague about an hour ago. She knows I’ve been researching and looking for the best blocks for my nephews. I had tended towards some German-made colored ones (quite beautiful, too), but my colleague prefers these. She thinks my little guys will get alot more “play” and learning out of the Archiquest sets.

I was actually quite glad to read of your positive review because I had earlier read a pretty negative one that said these blocks were overpriced – that the details were stickers, and on the new set that the reviewer had just bought, those stickers were already coming off on some of the blocks.

However, other reviewers have said that their children were fascinated, and kept playing with these blocks. They do look beautiful.

Anyway, good luck to everyone on the contest. I hope whoever wins has a kid in his or her life that will really enjoy these blocks. Even if I don’t win, I think I’ll buy a set to check out.

These look like so much fun! I would love to win these to add to my donation to toys for tots this year. I can imagine a child would love to get these for a present.

What a brilliant concept…. My son is four and I am thinking this would be an ideal gift that would grow with him for years to come, particularly as he begins to learn about new cultures!

Thank you so much for this opportunity!
I am always looking for non-battery operated toys for my kids so they can really be involved and using their minds……WOW what a concept!
I think the Archiquest blocks are just beautiful but way over what I can afford this season.
    Again, thanks for sharing.

I’ve been mesmerized by these blocks since I saw them in a catalog. I think my nephew would flip over them. Thanks for entering me in the drawing!
