From Slob To Suave With a $100 Gift Card to JCPenney

Okay ladies, let’s admit it, sometimes the men in our lives just aren’t with the times when it comes to fashion. They would happily wear the same old t-shirt and worn out jeans every day if they could.

My hubby is all about comfort. The second he walks in the door from work, the Dockers and polo shirt come off and the old jeans and a t-shirt come on. He even spends some weekends in just pajama bottoms.

While I am not too bothered by the majority of his “lounging around” clothes, there are a couple of t-shirts – especially his old Nirvana shirts form the early 90′s – that sometimes leave me wishing that I could take him on a shopping spree. (Please don’t get angry, dear hubby, I know you LOVE Nirvana, so it’s okay.)

Don’t get me wrong, I think my hubby is a handsome guy and looks good even in his ratty old t-shirts, but every now and then, it would be fun to bring out his GQ side, in an outfit that would make me swoon just a bit

Thanks to JCPenney, My hubby and I took a little shopping trip to try out a few new looks. Let me tell you, their sales were INCREDIBLE. We were surprised at how great the prices were, and when we checked out, we also received an additional $15.00 off. We walked off with a polo shirt, dress shirt, tie, dress shoes and a belt, all for under $100.00.

I made my hubby branch out a little bit. See, he does own a couple of dress shirts and ties, (which he rarely wears) but they are all in shades of blue, which I love, because they bring out his eyes. As we browsed JCPenney, we both were drawn to all things blue, but we fought the urge and tried a new look, going with a nice green Van Heusen wrinkle free Poplin dress shirt.

We complimented the shirt with a Van Heusen tie and Dockers. What you don’t see in this picture are the Nunn Bush Comfort Gel dress shoes. All of these items were on sale.

So, he’s got a little GQ vibe going on, right?

Father’s Day is right around the corner and JCPenney has some great brands that are worth your time checking out. I highly suggest their American Living brand. I mentioned the sales, right? – because really, the prices can’t be beat.

In celebration of Father’s Day, JCPenney would like to help you turn the dad (husband, father, brother…etc) in your life from slob to suave, with a $100.00 JCPenney gift card.

I would definitely get some polo shirts or poplin shirts for my husband to wear. He’s a handyman who loves to wear his work clothes even when he’s not at work! He needs some nicer stuff!

My husband actually dresses pretty nicely. Except for those umbro shorts from high school…uh, yeah…anyway, he is in desperate need of some shoes to wear to work and some nice black dress shoes…as well as tennis shoes. He tends to let those all go for a long time before purchasing others. I think he’s too absorbed in making sure the kids have shoes. He takes such good care of them (and me) that I would love to treat him to something nice like shoes (he usually gets clothes from family during Christmas/Birthday and they all look rather nice).

let’s see with $100, I could probably get a couple of nice outfits. I’d get my husband a causal outfit, consisting of St. John’s Bay Exploration Cargo & some sort of a matching shirt. Then, for something work-oriented, I would get him a pair of nice slacks, such as Haggar® Pleated Work-to-Weekend® No-Iron Pants & a nice button down shirt.

My husband is 6’6″ and over 300 lbs, so naturally it’s hard to find clothes to fit him. However, JcPenney carries a large selection of Big & Tall and so we order from there quite frequently! A gift card to JCP would be an amazing gift and truly a blessing. He needs some new jeans and some polo shirts and button downs for church. Thanks for the chance!

I’d probably pick up a few stylish items for my handsome husband, perhaps the J. Ferrar High Fashion Shirt for-starters.

Then, I’d buy a pair of nice dress pants for myself – maybe the Modern-Fit Angle Pocket Pant or the Worthington Textured Pant. I had a baby 3 months ago and I can just barely *squeeze* into my pre-pregnancy clothes. Since they’re not very comfortable, I’d love to get a pair that fits well until I lose the rest of the weight around my tummy.

I’m a big fan of JCPenney’s prices and the clothing items can be very nice, but I’d love to see a stronger emphasis on customer service and store cleanliness/organization. I’d also love it if JCPenney provided a private Nursing Lounge for nursing mothers, with a soft sofa and a changing table. :)

I’m afraid I couldn’t convince my husband to “dress up” a bit. First of all, he’s angry because NO shirts have a pocket on it as they used to. Just because men have given up cigarettes doesn’t mean they don’t USE that pocket. He needs it to hold his glasses and a pen, and lots of other things. Since he cannot get a shirt WITH a pocket, he refuses to buy ANY! So…I’M ready to do him a “favor” and use that $100 to buy what I’d like! How about that?

It is difficult to get my hubby to buy for himself – he spends all his money on me and the kids and on our home. He deserves this. I would get him an engineering manager look – what he is.

My Airman could use some new button down shirts. He gets one spot on one and won’t wear it anymore…lol

I would make over my son. He could use a nice pair of dress pants, shirt, and tie. Thanks!
