WordWorld Giveaway!
WordWorld is the FANTASTIC children's show on PBS, where words COME ALIVE. Emmy-winning PBS Kids series, WordWorld launched their anticipated second season on February 13th.
- The break-through children’s program has garnered a 97% carriage rate in US households.
- WordWorld has been made available in 22 countries worldwide.
- According to a recent study funded by the Department of Education, the WordWorld television series is an effective pre-literacy tool for kids. (In a society where only 1 in 8 children’s television programs meet high-quality standards, the second season launch is some good news for parents)
In WordWorld, The WordFriends go on comic adventures and face challenges that can only be resolved with the right word. That word is built letter by letter, sound by sound, during the funky “Build a Word” song at the end of every episode. Once the word is built, it “morphs”–comes alive–into the thing it is!
Word building reinforces the pre-reading concept that letters (and their sounds) make words, and that words have real meaning…and power. The series also introduces literacy concepts that preschoolers will encounter as they become readers, such as sounding out letters and rhyming. But most of all, WordWorld helps children get excited about reading and see words as their friends
Check your local listings to see when WordWorld is on in your area! You can also see clips and some WordWorld shows on their YouTube channel.
For some hands-on, educational WordWorld fun, a line of toys are available at Target and recently Toys R Us. For those of you without a Target in your area, you can head to Toys R Us for a Bucket set and/or WordWorld DVD’s.

I really hope that i have a chance at this giveaway. I Have a Home Daycare. I can not tell you how much my kids love Word World. It is one of the best things on Tv. We do not even watch a lot of Tv. Word World is so great that we try to make time at some point everyday to watch it. I have DVR and it tapes it for me. The kiddos get so excited when they see Sheep, Cow, Bear, oh I could go on and on, or if you would like I could break out the song.

Both of my toddler granddaughters (and me) love to watch Word World on PBS, but I didn't know about the toys, so this giveaway is great! And, since their Mom owns and operates a pre-school, I'm sure she'd take this prize with her for the other kids to enjoy (if I won, that is:))

I love word world. After my dad had his hip replaced I made him watch the show with BG and I kept pointing out all the words to him. He didn't quite get as excited as me over the fact that the letters C-O-W could form a cow but he still liked it, lol!

I would love to have this. I might even let my girls play too! I find this show to be so creative and it's one of the few the I actually enjoy watching with my children. It's so clever how they build the words and it always looks like what it's supposed to be while still having the correct letters. Love it!

I checked out all the links for the giveaway as I wasn't familiar with any of the items and they all look like great fun for a burgeoning reader! I have two kids in my house who would get lots of use out of these items! I think the Things That Go Magnetic Playset would be a great item to pack when going on a trip! The magnetic pieces would allow my kids to play for extended periods of time on a plane and I wouldn't need to worry about dropped pieces getting lost on the floor!

Word world is my daughter's favorite show. She has been sick since birth and we have searched for quality TV and toys that keep her busy while she is getting therapy and treatments. They love it because for them it is fun and makes them laugh. And I love it because whether they know it or not it is teaching them important things.
