While I didn’t have the incredible movie version that my six year old son gets to experience, I did have the old animated version. Susan and I had that movie memorized. Literally.
When Jackson was old enough to not squirm too much, I started reading him the series at bedtime. Already captivated by Narnia on DVD, he would beg me, “Just one more chapter, one more chapter… please…”

When Narnia came out, I went and got the book and read it … I liked the book as it went into more detail; but still loved seeing the book come to life in the movie.

The books always tend to be better that the movies. They get your imagination flowing to the point it’s like you’re right there with your favorite characters going through everything they do. To be honest though I really like to see the book become a visual reality in the form of a movie. I believe the recent movies are the best. They are more vivid than the classics. I read the first 4 books in the Chronicles of Narnia when I was a kid. I really liked the beginning of “The Magician’s Nephew” and “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” because I always fantasized of finding a secret doorway into another world.
I would have to say I like the books best, then the new movies. I never saw the animated version.

It’s funny – I’ve probably read everything CS Lewis ever wrote as an adult, after seeing the movie “Shadowlands”, but as a child I never was introduced to the Narnia works. I hope to remedy that for this generation!

I did enjoy the books when I was younger, especially Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I vaguely remember the cartoon version. I did see it as a child, but it’s a bit fuzzy now. But I love the new Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe movie. I’ve watched my DVD many, many times. I missed Prince Caspian when it was in theatres, but I am looking forward to seeing it on DVD. I love the animated version of TLWW. The new movies do make the epic truly come to life. The BBC version is also good.
Each has things i like about them that make them unique, but the Narnia of my childhoos would be the animated version that came out in 1979.

I adore the CS Lewis books…LW&TW is a magnificently done movie. My husband is STILL sulking (8 years later) that Walden Media didn’t do LOTR series…he thinks they would have done a much better job than Jackson with it’s darkness. WM maintained the integrity and nobility of the characters….and showed what a little snot Edwin was…and how well he grew up!
We read the books when the girls were little and watch the movies now- and love everything about them.

I absolutely adored the Chronicles of Narnia growing up. I have the series and I can’t wait until my sons are old enough for me to read it to them. I would love the movie as i didn’t get a chance to see it when it was in the theaters.

The Chronicles of Narnia Movies are such great Family films!
I didn’t know about this series growing up. I always thought it was considered religious fiction, which I avoided religiously. The movies have ended up being interesting so far.
I really like the Narnia movies more than the old animated version of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. I would love to win The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian on DVD. I just saw the first Narnia movie and loved it so much and would finally like to see the sequel as well. I know my other family members would enjoy seeing the sequel as well. I love this series. I read the books in high school and my older kids have read the books and we love how the films have remained true to the books.
I truly enjoyed the themes of the books and the film helped me remember my childhood joy reading these books.
My daughter wamts this DVD.
I haven’t seen this Chronicles of Narina yet. This would be a great Dvd to watch with the whole family during the holidays.

My kids would love this!
I read the stories as a child, saw a live stage performance which was wonderful and the new Narnia movies. I saw the animated movies which were just so-so.
