Nana Star and Friends

My daughter loves books and she loves dolls. What little girl doesn’t? I remember reading certain book series growing up and falling in love with the characters. Now my daughter has found a book series that she has fallen in love with!

The award winning Nana Star book series is a fabulous addition to any young girl’s library. The books follow a little girl, Nana Star, as she embarks on a magical adventure to bring a lost baby star back home where he belongs. Along her journey she meets new friends who guide her and teach her some very important lessons about friendship, including the Moonman who is always watching over her, even when she can’t see him.

Each book comes with a CD of an audio reading of the book and a special song. The audio reading is perfect for those young readers who are not quite ready to read the book on their own or the little girl who wants to hear the story again and again (and for the mom who needs a break from reading a book 100+ times!).

The books are just not complete without the adorable corresponding plush dolls. The Nana Star poseable doll is perfectly crafted to match the Nana Star book with her beautiful blue princess dress and her own little baby star to care for.

My daughter loves holding her doll as we read Nana Star together. She also loves snuggling with the Moonman Lovey as we read Nana Star and the Moonman and then she hugs his little tummy to hear his special song.

As a mom there are so many things about the Nana Star book series and The Laugh-Friendly Company that I love. Of course I love that my daughter has found another book to enjoy, but I am drawn in by the company itself. Nana Star is a family business.

Writers Elizabeth Sills and Elena Patrice have taken the story created by their grandmother and developed the Nana Star series with the help of their mother and book illustrator Linda Saker. They have also created a corresponding website that takes the Nana Star experience even further with coloring pages, lessons, videos, and the Little Twinkles Club.

My favorite part about this company and book is most definitely the Nana Star Foundation. A portion of the proceeds from sales of Nana Star books and merchandise is donated to the Nana Star Foundation, benefiting terminally ill children and under-resourced urban schools!

    Reading is so important for little kids. It is a daily activity in our house that everyone just loves! How cool to have dolls that go along with the books!

    Children can NEVER have too many books. They can read a book over and over again. They can study the illustrations and find something different in each picture every time they read the book. Reading an enjoyable story helps them learn and having a little “friend” from the story sort of brings it to life for them.
