We’re big movie fans, and currently use Blockbuster Online, but this sounds like it would be a much better deal! It would be really nice not to have to return anything to the video store…
We don’t have ANY online dvd memberships and have recently realized that 1) we use Redbox way too often, and 2) there are lots of older movies we want to see, and 3) you can’t get those movies at Redbox or Blockbuster.

Our family would love this. We can’t go out as a family due to one child’s severe disabilities (he needs 24-hour care), so we’ve always stayed home for movies. We just need to get through the rest of winter so we can go back outside!

We need this because we have stopped going to the movies because every time we go there are people who don’t know how to behave! Netflix is great.

What a great giveaway. Watching movies is something my hubby and I love to do together. We are in the process of relocating to another state (in April) and so always look forward to our date nights each week to watch a movie. Okay…I LOVE THIS!! This is why I DEFINITELY need it: My husband is in the military and has been away for over a year now. While I love my three year old to pieces, I have started a REALLY bad habit of letting him sleep in my bed. I don’t want him to resent his daddy when he comes home next January, so I’m making every effort to get him back in his bed. I love the choices that Netflix offers. I’ve even used their online viewing. But the Roku can turn this into a larger screen experience the entire family can enjoy.
We have been considering getting Netflix. We need the membership and Roku because we live in a rural community with no movie theater for 60 miles and no movie rental store for 30 miles. I have been using blockbuster but lately their shipping is slow if if I rent in store the discs are scratched and unplayable. And a lot of newer DVD sets they are not even carrying like Nip Tuck, Mythbusters, Monk and Rescue Me. Do I sense another retailor getting ready to go out of business

I love this idea! I’ve never heard of the Roku before, but now that I have, I love this idea so much! With being a mom of young children, it’s not always easy to get out to pick up dvds. This is perfect. When we want to rent, it’s right there for us.

We need Roku player and netflix membership; We are having to lower our monthyly payments, therefore we are canceling our Direct TV and don’t know when we are going to be able to get a box for the new regular TV channels.
My son does not know what he is going to do without history channel,discovery channel, mtv, travel channel.
Netflix has a lot of the documentaries from these channels.

We already subscribe to Netflix because we can’t get cable at our house and the cost of getting any of the newer movies off of pay-per-view was rediculous. Like so many other money can be tight at times and we’re certainly no exception so we try to find more things to do at home than going out. Something like this we’d definitely get some use out of.

This would be great because movie night is one of the few things we all do together. It’s hard to find something we all want to do together: hubby works all day, two ADHD twin 8 year old boys, 2 preteen girls, my night shift nurse duty at the hospital, and my 20 year old stepdaughter who is Autistic. Yet we all manage to plop/run in one room/lay down enough to watch a movie and eat snacks together. I would be delighted to win, since this looks great but we really don’t have the money to afford it right now.

My Husband & I baby sit for our grandchildren, Tatiana 6, and Ashton 3 every day of the week while our daughter and her husband work. well as you all know school vacation is the week after valentines day, and we will have both children home all day and if I had this for them, I could get them some really neat movies to watch instead of sponge bob. and hubby and I could watch them with them.

With a toddler son, we don’t venture out of the house much, so date nights at home are the only kind we get. I’ve heard of Netflix’s instant movie thing, but it only works on PCs and we have Macs, so we’ve never been able to use it. The Roku sounds great!

Oh wow! I had not even heard of the Roku until yesterday but I really want and need one. I am disabled and we’ve used up all our savings paying our bills since the doctor wouldn’t let me go back to work in July. My disability insurance is about to kick in but it’s a lot less then my pay check and my husband’s work hours have been cut to 10 hours a week! We have nothing to give eachother a present with. 9. I don’t have cable in my room. When it was going to be installed, the doorknob got broken, so I ended with no cable TV and a broken doorknob.
8. Because the doorknobs are antique, four other doorknobs in the house were removed to fix my doorknob
7. Those doorknobs have never been replaced and to keep those doors shut you have to close them with a sock. All for the want to cable TV.

I’m moving to a new apartment with my husband and daughter. We currently have DVR, and won’t have it where we are moving. I work about an hour a day from home and use our DVR everyday so my daughter can watch Sesame Street while I work. Not having that will make it hard to distract her while I work. My family are movie buffs and do not go to the movies, we use to have blockbuster on line but since I’m unemployed we had to give it up we now rent at a redbox when we have the extra so would love to win this prize. It seems like we are always so busy that we never have the time (or don’t feel like driving to the mall) to see a movie at the theater. And with the price of tickets for all 4 of us to go, it just isn’t in the budget. I would much rather stay home and watch the movie when it’s convenient and just throw some popcorn in the microwave.
We don’t have Netflix anymore because we’re cutting costs, and we desperately miss it!

This would be great for us – mainly for my daughter! We don’t have cable. She’s always asking to watch something that’s not on. It’s hard to explain to a 3 year old why she can’t. What we do now is check out DVDs for her from the library. This would be a lot easier than driving to the library each week. At least when we let her watch some tv, it will be something we definitely want her to see rather than whatever happens to be on at the moment. We also have an infant, so we don’t go out to see movies. Maybe (if we got them both to sleep early) my husband and I could watch something besides Caillou or Maisy.

We used to have DirecTV until Hurricane Ivan. Right after the storm, we couldn’t justify the expense, and now we’ve gotten used to watching stuff free online at the network sites and hulu or watching cheap DVDs. We could make great use of the Roku device and Netflix to catch up on a lot of films and TV shows we haven’t had a chance to see.

It’s been really hard for us in so many ways. We just had a baby, our son has Asperger’s Autism and seizures, and my husband is on RIF(seasonal layoff) so we didn’t even give each other Christmas presents with all we had to deal with, re: medical bills. This would be a groovy present for both of us to share as we currently share the IPod my younger sister gave us(gently used, of course…LOL) for Christmas this past year. We live out in the sticks. There’s only one video store and it doesn’t open until noon (it’s closed on WEd for some reason) and has no drop off box so people can’t return movies before they go to work. As a result many newer movies don’t get returned until late and are immediately snatched up.

Even with cable tv, there are days when there is absolutely nothing to watch as some cable channels seem to run the same movies over and over and over again. I live in the mountains and there are no video stores less than 45 minutes away. We have DirecTV but they seem to show the same six shows for a month. We have Netflix now but only the least expensive plan is in our budget. So, winning the Roku would give our family the chance to enjoy some entertainment together after supper.
My husband and I love to watch movies on his day off and we don’t live around a video store so this would be great to watch updated movies. Thanks
